About this coffee

This single origin washed Catuai comes from the picturesque Finca Lérida in Panama from which we have been sourcing high quality coffee beans directly for the past four years. Finca Lérida is not only world famous for its award winning Geishas but also grows a particularly aromatic Catuai in its fantastic microclimate. We roast these single origin beans in a balanced and well developed way to bring out the chocolaty honey sweetness in the best possible way. As a pure espresso, this coffee unfolds its amazing flavour profile and is also ideal for all milk-based drinks thanks to its intense aroma.

Only the ripest fruits are picked by hand for this high quality coffee, with one bush being harvested up to eight times so that all the beans achieve the optimum sweetness. The coffee cherries are then depulped, thoroughly washed and gently air dried while being constantly turned.

ORIGIN INFO

The Farm

Finca Lérida is located in Boquete and anyone who has the opportunity to visit this farm will feel the magic of this place in the middle of the Panamanian rainforest. It is a farm run by women and their attention to detail is visible everywhere. Maria Amoruso grew up in Boquete as the eldest of five siblings and, even as a little girl, planted coffee plants with her grandfather and helped him process them. She always dreamed of having her own farm and when Finca Lerida came up for sale in 2009, she reawakened this special place with one of the best locations for growing coffee and quickly gained attention across the world for producing high quality coffees.
